Abstract :
In 1984, before the beginning of high-speed dedicated digital line services, Fujitsu systematized the overall concept for a group of products, configurations, and operation and management for Private Information Network Systems (PINS) in the form of the Corporate Information Network System (COINS). It also developed a network planning guideline (NPG) to define tasks and procedures, standardize network structuring, and maximize efficiency in information network construction. The author gives an overview of the NPG, describes NPG techniques and features, and outlines projected work.<>
