Abstract
The effect of a ferroresonant voltage stabilizer in suppressing higher harmonics is described. In carrying out the analysis, the phasor method was employed for the linear part of the circuit, and the discrete Fourier transform was used for the nonlinear part. From the results of numerical analysis, it is shown that the output voltage waveform for a square wave stabilizer input is improved. The reduction of higher harmonics of the input current for a nonlinear load is also demonstrated. These results were confirmed by experiments.
