Abstract :
It has been pointed out that the error in the power loss measured by a single sheet tester is mainly due to eddy currents in the specimen. The eddy current distribution is affected by the yoke construction, the overhang of the specimen, the distance between the yokes, and other factors. We previously reported on the effect of the yoke construction. In this paper, the effects on measurement error of the specimen overhang and the distance between yokes are examined both experimentally and through numerical analysis by the 3-D finite element method.
