Abstract :
We prepared highly textured Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O thick films on polycrystalline MgO and Al2O3 substrates by the melting method, and investigated their superconducting properties. The thick films on MgO substrates were strongly oriented along the c-axis of a Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox phase perpendicular to the substrate, and exhibited superconductivity with a Tczero of 19 K and a critical current density of 160 A/cm2 at 50 K. Highly textured Bi2Sr2CaCu2OX superconducting thick films were grown on Al2O3 substrates by partial substitution of Pb for Bi.
