Abstract :
A description is given of an interactive automatic generation control (AGC) simulator developed under EPRI´s Power Plant Performance Instrumentation Project (RP1681/2153). It was developed to test and compare economic dispatch algorithms, which might be able to show improvement over standard economic dispatch algorithms if accurate unit information were available. The value of such improvements to industry are examined. The characteristics of the algorithm developed and traditional and advanced algorithms are compared.<>
