Abstract
Harmonics analysis, unlike the more traditional analysis techniques, such as load flow, must be solved at numerous frequencies. Much of what could once be ignored at 50 or 60 Hz can no longer be ignored. A program called V-HARM, which runs on PCs, has been developed for this analysis. The evolution of V-HARM and its solution technique and analysis procedure are described. The program is menu-driven and provides a large variety of tabular and graphical output. It provides the capability to determine the frequency response of the system as well as the effects of specific harmonic sources. The program can also be used for many problems that do not involve harmonics. The program supports a variety of device models, which are summarized.<>
