Abstract :
A versatile astable multivibrator (VAM) employing a dual timer 556 is proposed. Some of its applications other than the conventional ones, such as voltage-to-period, voltage-to-frequency, voltage-to-time converters, analog divider, and voltage-controlled duty-cycle circuit, are considered. Practical results are in close resemblance with the theoretical predictions.
