Abstract :
Soft heating methods for hyperthermia are inductive heating methods utilizing the iron loss of temperature-sensitive magnetic materials, with the maximum temperature controlled through the Curie temperature of the material. The heating seeds are temperature-sensitive amorphous metal flakes composed of Fe-P-C-Cr. In this paper, considerations relating to the calorific power of temperature-sensitive amorphous metal flakes are described, with a view to embedding such heating devices in tissue for use in clinical applications.
