Application of Gate Arrays in Industrial Development and Production Processes

Specific problems of a company producing low-volume devices are pointed out. After explanation of technology requirements, a description of the design process is included. A short overview about test strategies and some experiences with semicustom integration are reported. The paper ends with a discussion of commercial aspects.
