Abstract
The Neutral Test Description Format (NTDF) [l] is a digital IC design aid which takes the form of a file format definition for interface between tools which require the transfer of a truth table or test pattern description data. Although the principal use envisaged for NTDF is the design of integrated circuits, there is no reason inherent in the format to preclude its use for other logic circuits. The present sources of NTDF files are user input edit tools, workstations, and logic simulators. The target tools are logic simulators and convertors for test patterns on automatic test equipment (ATE).
