Abstract
In this paper, the impedance characteristics of a rectangular-section conductor in an AC condition are analyzed using electromagnetic field theory. The limitations of the two-dimensional model are explored and a three-dimensional electromagnetic field model of a flat conductor is established. Then, the relation of the impedance to the frequency and the conductor configuration under the influence of both the AC skin effect and the striction effect is studied, and an approximate formula for the impedance of a flat conductor is proposed
