Abstract :
In this paper which is based on previous work (see ibid., vol.40, p.1635, 1992), a closed-form lower bound on the mean square error of symbol timing recovery is reported for NRZ rectangular pulse sequences. The bound is a function of the fundamental parameters Eb the symbol energy and N0 the noise power spectral density
