Abstract
I began my career in electronics in Australia in 1960 when I enrolled in the Electrical Engineering Department of Melbourne University. The fifties had been a time of spectacular progress in technology, with the development of nuclear energy, space exploration, and of course electronic systems of many varieties. I had enjoyed physics and math in high school and guessed that the burgeoning field of electronics would be a good career choice for me.
