Abstract
The paper discussed about the activities organized by the IEEE Student Branch of University of Auckland. As its leadership has spurred a student membership growth of 40% over the last two years. Current figures cite 220 active members who are offered the opportunity to participate in approximately ten student events every year. Although the branch´s executive committee meets at least twice a semester, much of the organization is conducted via e-mail. The branch has grown to become a core social organization for students studying in IEEE-related fields, and students view membership as a great way to pick up professional skills, industry contacts, and to have fun.
