Abstract :
In this paper, a new scheme for static Scherbius drives, which results in improvement of power factor of the drive, has been proposed. It has a chopper inserted between the rectifier and inverter modules. The design considerations of such a scheme have been discussed in detail. The experimental results on a Scherbius drive using the proposed scheme have also been presented in order to bring out its merits and demerits.
