Simple adaptive analog and digital trigger circuits for thyristors working under wide range of supply frequencies

Simple adaptive analog and digital trigger circuits for thyristors working under variable frequency supply voltage are presented in this paper. These circuits adopt themselves to generate trigger pulses such that the firing angle depends only on the control signal and is independent of the supply frequency. The digital trigger circuits described here directly control the firing angle depending upon the given digital control signal. Few applications of these adaptive trigger circuits are outlined.
