Abstract :
A differential input device was realised based on CCD technology. A set of two CCDs having two input gates connected inversely to each other represented the response analogous to that of the on-centre and off-centre units in biological systems, by combining the multiplier. Simple contrast edge detection can be realised using the differential input device.
