Abstract :
The authors describe improvements made with respect to speed optimisation to a modified Newton-Raphson (MNR) image reconstruction algorithm used in electrical impedance tomography (EIT), described by Yorkey et al. [1987] and Abdullah [1993]. The improved MNR algorithm implemented a sparse matrix method and avoided redundant computations to reduce the overall computational complexity of the original algorithm by a factor of 5
