Abstract :
The authors demonstrate mathematically that the direction of an antenna beam (antenna pointing) can be determined by the centre-of-gravity of its beam intensity. The technique is validated using measurements on a 1.118 m 94 GHz Cassegrain reflector and is seen as pivotal in the future application of the phase retrieval technique for near-field/far-field prediction
