Abstract :
We present a polarization-insensitive approach for waveform restoration in semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) using nonlinear polarization rotation in SOA and polarimetric filtering. An extended input power dynamic range of 15 dB was achieved, and improved cascadability was verified experimentally. The scheme was also proved to be capable of suppressing the cross-gain modulation induced channel crosstalk for multiple input wavelengths.
