Abstract

Nowadays, organizations need to work with large amounts of information from different sources. Therefore it becomes necessary tools and formats such as XML, which serve as integrators to this heterogeneity. This paper describes XDS, a tool designed with agents, which integrates data from multiple sources: relational databases, native XML databases and XML documents, obtaining the results in XML format. Besides its usefulness is demonstrated with a case study applied to the environment of libraries, consisting of bibliographic consults, where the result obtained are formatted in MODS.
