  • Abstract
This paper describes a method for designing a digital loop for numerical control (NC) comprising an up-down counter, a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), a servo motor, and a digital encoder. The loop is analyzed and the open-loop gain is determined. The number of counter stages required for a given speed interval is also calculated. An example is presented to demonstrate the design procedure.
