Abstract :
A scattering model for calculation of the radar cross-sections of ice particles found in cirrus clouds is introduced. Using this model and using cirrus size spectra data from the European Cloud Radiation Experiment (EUCREX), practical expressions for the quantification of cirrus clouds by mm-wave radars are proposed
