Abstract :
The feasibility of predistortion-linearised multiquantum well (MQW) electroabsorption (EA) modulators for suppressing dispersion-induced distortion is verified by means of a 42 channel AM-VSB signal transmission experiment using 1.3 μm zero-dispersion fibre and EDFAs. The results obtained by the experiment support theoretical estimations of frequency chirping in MQW-EA modulators
