Abstract
Britain has fallen behind countries like Denmark and New Zealand in the innovation league table. Innovation will be increased if organisations involve all their personnel in the generation of ideas and the identification of necessities. This paper addresses the key requirements for successful innovation. The reasons why some nations are better at innovation than others is outlined, and how British organisations can become more innovative is discussed.
