Abstract :
The CNR and 16-QAM bit error rate are significantly degraded, owing to optical reflections, in an externally-modulated 1550 nm DFB laser transmitter, compared with an externally-modulated 1319 nm YAG laser transmitter in multichannel AM/QAM lightwave transmission systems. These results are in good agreement with a simple model
