Abstract :
The analysis of the dynamical properties of a laser-diode powered optical nanomachine is reported. Attention is focussed on establishing the resonant response of the device. The predicted performance demonstrates the feasibility of constructing a novel class of functional devices that may be actuated using commercially available laser diodes and hence order the prospect of low-cost deployment in optoelectronics, micromechanics, microfluidics and the biosciences.
