Abstract
A new connectionist model is presented based on cortical column behaviour, and its simulation studied on a message-passing multiprocessor network. Its properties, such as local and low connectivity, potentially enable massively parallel hardware networks. Simulation results concerning the time required to transfer all the messages between processors within a real time execution are discussed.
