Abstract :
Some new optimal partial unit memory codes with good parameters are presented. The construction of these codes is based on BCH codes. As examples codes of length 7 and 15 are constructed. The codes of length 15 form a partitioning chain and can so be used as inner codes in concatenated schemes.
