Abstract :
The simulation and optimization of fuzzy systems with neural networks or genetic algorithms on general-purpose processors require fast implementations of fuzzy rule-based systems. We present several adapted implementation concepts that precisely analyze the fuzzy algorithm and are based on lookup tables, optimized rule processing, and digital pulse-duration modulation. These concepts allow general-purpose processors to produce solutions quicker than the second generation of special fuzzy processors
