Abstract
A public utility´s approach to the establishment of motor-repair standards and specifications is discussed. The author notes that industry standards governing motor-repair methods are either nonexistent or inadequate, leading users to write their own, based on familiarity with repair industry practices. As a result, users´ standards differ from those used by equipment manufacturers. In addition, users need to evaluate individual repair shop capabilities
