Abstract
The approach used to optimize a transistorized pulsewidth-modulated inverter used in an uninterruptible power supply is detailed. Through the use of computer modeling with a space state-model, a variety of scenarios for the optimal inverter design were evaluated. The computer modeling resulted in an optimized feedback control loop, which provided the best level of response while minimizing the amount of switching losses to achieve the highest level of efficiency.<>
