Abstract :
Analyses of eddy currents and forces in conductors with motion are presented. The relative motion between source magnetic fields and conductors has been newly introduced in two codes (the finite element method and the finite element circuit method) by moving the source magnetic field and keeping the conductor still. For the verification of the method, the problems of a rotating circular plate and a moving coil over a rectangular plate are calculated by the two codes and the results are compared with the analytical solutions. The calculated results are in good agreement with the analytical solutions and are obtained without numerical instability even at higher Peclet number
