Abstract
A dual system adaptive luma-chroma separator circuit for PAL and NTSC TV signals is described. The circuit is designed to be suitable for VLSI chip layout. Single-line vertical combs are used to obtain a pair of independent chroma signals which are summed in a soft switch arrangement to obtain improved luma-chroma separation. The adaptive circuit is effective in eliminating color errors and cross-color interference typically observed in notch filtered and regular line comb separator circuits. Computer simulations of the circuits provide subjective verification of the effectiveness of the design
