Abstract :
A monochrome picture-in-picture (PIP) system, whose low-cost design and simplicity has led to successful implementation in high-volume color television products, has been developed. The combination of low-cost ICs, a small, single-sided printed circuit board, and a simple TV receiver interface achieved the cost of design goals while providing PIP functionality. The design philosophy and circuit descriptions used to provide this low-cost PIP product are presented
