            Abstract :
The statistics of the RMS delay spread in a simulcast mobile radio system are investigated. A simple model is assumed for a simulcast radio system that consists of two base stations with overlapped coverage. A mobile roaming in the overlap area receives two signals via two independent paths where each path is subjected to Rayleigh fading. Furthermore, a typical urban power delay profile, as in COST 207, is assumed for each path. Closed-form equations for the mean, the mean-square and the standard deviation of the local RMS delay spread are derived
