Abstract :
This paper describes the most common machines used in the production of punches and dies. The general principles and applications of the various machines are dealt with, particular attention being given to the Keller automatic copying machines. Examples of punch and die making, using various machines, are described in detail. The discussion deals with materials and production times for die castings, includes further details of punch and die production, and ends with a reference to less conventional dies used for sheet metal pressing.
