Abstract :
An application of the stochastic boundary element method to magnetic field analysis is described. A conventional magnetic field analysis has been calculated by definite input data. However, various uncertainties exist in actual input data, such as the dimensions or the material constants of a magnetic device. In order to determine the effect of the deviation, a stochastic boundary element method which can take the uncertainty of input data into account is developed. The advantage of this method is that the effect of the deviation of shape is directly calculated as the variance. Therefore, the computing time is considerably reduced in comparison with the usual method
