Abstract :
A method is given for the calculation of the lifetime of metal oxide arresters (MOA), with the fluctuation of the ambient temperature taken into account. It is shown that the actual continuous operation AC lifetime of MOA, with the fluctuation of the ambient temperature taken into account, exceeds, by 7-8 times, the lifetime determined at the maximum ambient temperature
