Abstract :
All transport of diagnostic information apparatus, necessary for safe and correct railway service, commits its running to the available medium: telephone cables. We have to manage with a multitude of protocols, each employed in its equipment. In this context, we have made some measures to verify that the line in the telephone cable from Florence Station to Rifredi Station, in Italy, was good. Then, we have tried to develop a plant and a telecommunication protocol, able to transfer data from a master and a certain number of slaves, with elements of versatility to adapt to different equipment. Obviously, this flexibility is limited by the characteristics of the considered channel.
