Abstract :
Steps taken by eight companies and by the Israeli defense industry to switch from the military to the commercial markets for their products and services are outlined. The companies discussed are Thomson-CSF, Hughes Aircraft, M/A-COM, Raytheon, Irvine Sensors, Westinghouse, Qualcomm, and GEC-Marconi. Their strategies are explained and their successes described.<>
