Abstract
The radiation resistance of a top-loaded monopole antenna is obtained by two different measurement methods. These are compared with the results of NEC modeling. Numerical values are given that exemplify the procedures. The antenna described is widely used for aeronautical non-directional radio beacons operating in the LF range.
