Abstract :
It is shown that the fast 2-D filter for real-time image processing derived by K.M. Ty and A.N. Venetsanopoules (ibid., vol.CAS-33, p.948-57, 1986) using Horner´s rule can also be obtained as a slight modification of 2-D direct form I implementation. The 2-D transposed direct form II structure is shown to be as fast and results in about a 50% savings in cost
