Abstract
The author reviews what is known about the migratory and homing abilities of birds and other animals. His interest is to find out whether their technology is applicable to long-distance navigation by man. He concludes that the mechanism of animal navigation is a complex integration of many senses whose details are unlikely to be discovered soon.<>
