Abstract :
A robust embedded zerotree wavelet (EZW) coding system using a threshold sharing technique is proposed. Shared threshold is used and two subordinate passes for EZW coding are taken. A new multiple description coding system is then presented with two channels using shared threshold. To evaluate the performance of the proposed encoder, the method is applied to image compression.
