  • Abstract
    An AC-coupled burst-mode optical receiver for Ethernet packet communication is presented. By employing 8B/10B coding, the AC-coupling scheme provides a fast response without significant distortions of low-frequency data. Experimental results show a sensitivity of -27 dBm with a required guard time of 74 ns at 1.25 Gbit/s.
