Abstract :
A large change of refractive index, Δn, induced by ultraviolet excimer laser irradiations in Er2O3-doped tellurite-based glass, which is a promising material for fibre amplifiers, has been obtained. The value of Δn/n larger than 5% was successfully achieved, and amplitude of Δn depending on Er2O3-concentrations has been found.
