Drawn by high economic growth rates and the existence of a large pool of engineering talent in places such as eastern Europe and China, many venture capitalists are opening up offices and focusing their expertise to these regions. However, because these financiers have very specific ideas on the type of project they favor in these regions, they will be drawn to companies with revolutionary business models, with the potential to provide a radical new way of delivering a service. Many of these firms are convinced that these regions have huge potential, and are readying themselves to provide the finance that will drive the next phase of the information economy.
