Abstract :
Affordable, high-performance graphics mean virtual reality is finding new applications across the entire product lifecycle. As a result, there is now a broad consensus that CAD-linked VR systems can provide an outstanding return on investment when integrated into the whole of PLM (product lifecycle management). Also, CAD-derived VR models are now enhanced with the addition of simple user interfaces, so that, for example, future users and maintainers of equipment can be trained prior to delivery and installation.
