Abstract :
This article shows how electromagnetic simulation tools can be used early in the design stage to predict the impacts of lightning and high-intensity radiated fields on cable harnesses in aircraft. Furthermore, it shows how with such tools appropriate cable shielding can be devised that ensures the aircraft will pass the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects testing without adding unnecessary weight.
